The jury’s reason

• Car-sharing using electric cars can be a sustainable solution for the hotel industry because it combines environmental, economic and social benefits: electric cars produce no local emissions when in use and help to improve air quality, particularly in cities and tourist regions.
• Car-sharing reduces the need for private vehicles per guest and thus the overall vehicle fleet. Fewer cars mean lower energy and resource consumption for manufacturing and disposal. For businesses using energy from renewable sources, they contribute to climate neutrality in the mobility sector. 
• Instead of maintaining their own hire cars or shuttle fleets, guests can flexibly hire electric cars. The hotel saves on operating costs and can simultaneously monetise the service as an additional offering. 
• It also boosts the appeal to different target groups: environmentally conscious travellers, business people and international guests all benefit equally from a simple, transparent and sustainable mobility solution.
