New electric car-sharing service in Cortina (Alto Adige)

From 24 December 2025, a new, environmentally friendly mobility service will be available in the Unterland region: e-car sharing.
The aim is to reduce the need for second or third cars and thereby significantly lower households’ transport costs.

The local council recently decided to lease an electric car for the car-sharing offer. The VW ID.3 will be used for official municipal business, but is primarily intended to serve as a cost-effective ‘shared car’ for the village community.
Associations, businesses and tourists will also be able to make flexible use of the service in future.

Less traffic and fewer cars
The car-sharing model aims to encourage as many residents as possible to embrace shared mobility – benefiting both the environment and their wallets. Lower emissions, less traffic and reduced costs are the key benefits.
With this new service, the municipality of Cortina is joining the province-wide electric car-sharing network. A total of around 50 electric cars are already available at 27 stations across 14 South Tyrolean municipalities. The entire car-sharing fleet can be accessed using the same smartphone app.

By offering a sustainable mobility solution, Cortina is positioning itself as a modern and environmentally conscious place to live. Sharing the ‘village car’ strengthens the sense of community and usefully complements local public transport.
Thanks to the new provincial funding for e-car sharing, the costs for the municipality are manageable.

Quick registration – easy to use
Signing up is straightforward via the AlpsGo website or directly in the AlpsGo app. The digital booking system is intuitive: register, book, collect the car, drive and return it. Users can check the charge level, view availability or get a cost estimate for their journey online at any time. Registration is available either with no fixed costs or via a subscription model. The subscription costs €3 per hour and €0.28 per kilometre. The one-off registration fee of €19 is credited in part or in full as travel credit to holders of the Altoadige Pass or Alperia customers.
