Launch of the E-CarSharing service in Termeno

The lower Adige municipality is setting an example when it comes to sustainable mobility: on Friday 10 April 2026, the village car was officially unveiled to the public. With the launch of the new service point, Termeno is making an important contribution to environmentally friendly mobility in rural areas and demonstrating that everyone can play an active part in the transport transition.

The opening was attended by representatives of the local council and the mayor, Wolfgang Oberhofer, who welcomed the project on behalf of the municipality.
He explained that the service would be used jointly by municipal staff and made available to the entire population of Tramin. Associations, businesses and tourists will also be able to make flexible use of the service in future.

Interested villagers took the opportunity to find out more about the new mobility service, register free of charge and take a test drive. Representatives from the South Tyrolean provider AlpsGo gave a detailed presentation of the car-sharing system and explained how to use the new service and the smartphone app, which also serves as a digital car key.
Bookings can be made for periods ranging from one hour up to a maximum of five days; the vehicle must be returned to Tramin.

Use at half the car-sharing rate

The AlpsGo staff also provided an overview of the rates and technical details: journeys are charged at an hourly rate (€3) plus a flat rate per kilometre (€0.28). The daily rate is €24.50 for 24 hours.
This is half the price normally charged for the public fleet. The local council has opted for the more favourable rate as part of the costs are covered by a public regional grant.

The one-off registration fee of €19 is credited in full or in part as travel credit to holders of the South Tyrol Pass or Alperia customers. Charging is included in the hire price, and the range of a fully charged VW ID.3 is between 250 and 350 kilometres, depending on driving style. A local 24/7 helpline is available for support.

“We are delighted that this service enables us to offer our residents yet another way to get around. The car-sharing station introduces a modern element of flexible mobility to Tramin, which can help ease the financial burden on families. It could mean one or two fewer third or second cars,” explained Wolfgang Oberhofer, Mayor of Tramin, at the opening.

As AlpsGo President Daniela Trintinaglia emphasised, the e-car-sharing network is growing steadily: “There are currently 33 car-sharing stations across South Tyrol, serving 61 vehicles. In the Unterland region, the second village car is now available to the public, and at least 15 further South Tyrolean municipalities will follow in the coming months.”
